Microprocessor 8086 - LEC7
Instruction Set of 8086μP
• There are 117 basic instructions in the instruction set of 8086μP. The
instruction set of 8086μP can be divided into the following groups :
1. Data Transfer Instructions

OUTLINE
STACK
The stack is a section of read/write memory (RAM) used by the CPU to store
information temporarily. CPU needs this storage area since there are only limited
number of registers.

Registers of 8086 Microprocessor
• In the CPU, registers are used store information temporarily. The
information can be one or two bytes of data, or the address of data.
• In 8088/8086 general-purpose registers can be accessed as either16-bit or

Chapter 6 : Network Performance & Transmission Media
In previous sections, we have discussed the tools for transmitting data (signals) over a network and how the data behaves. In this section, we discuss quality of service, and an overall measurement of network performance.

Chapter 4: Data and Analog Signals
One of the major functions of the physical layer is to move data in the form of electromagnetic signals across a transmission medium. Generally, the data usable to a person or application is not in a form that can be transmitted over a network. For example, a photograph must first be changed to a form that transmission media can accept. Transmission media work by conducting energy along a physical path.
