Lecturer
This lecture addresses two of the most frequently reported gastrointestinal complaints in the community pharmacy: diarrhea and constipation. It provides students with a foundational understanding of the definitions, causes, types, and complications of both conditions.
Students will learn how to assess symptoms, distinguish between acute and chronic cases, identify alarm signs, and provide appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological recommendations. The lecture emphasizes the pharmacist's role in patient assessment, safe use of over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and counseling on dietary and lifestyle changes.
